Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Dispatcher for the District Office in New Jersey. The role oversees daily bus and vendor transportation, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient routes for students across activities.

Key duties include coordinating with schools, scheduling trips, maintaining records, and assisting with DRTRS submissions. Requires CDL B with endorsements, routing software knowledge, and Rutgers supervisor training eligibility.

Qualifications

• CDL class B with Airbrakes and P & S endorsements required.
• Experience dispatching buses or drivers preferred.
• Ability to develop and modify bus routes.
• Familiarity with Transfinder or similar routing software.
• Proficient with Google, Word, and Excel.
• Must obtain Rutgers Supervisor training certificate if not held.
• Knowledge of DRTRS filing and state regulations.
• Background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal status.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with schools to maximize transportation efficiency.
• Oversee daily bus and vendor transportation dispatch.
• Schedule trips for field trips and athletics.
• Maintain trip destination databases and update directions.
• Assist in assigning drivers for routes and trips.
• Maintain driver and transportation records per requirements.
• Track and maintain vehicle inspection and maintenance records.
• Prepare requisitions for department purchases.
• Communicate with parents and district staff on paperwork.
• Coordinate with vendors for scheduling and contracts.
• Assist with DRTRS submissions for NJ.
• Develop and maintain existing routes and new routes.
• Prepare state and local transportation reports.
• Occasionally drive an assigned route as needed.
• Provide emergency substitutions for drivers when needed.
• Supervise transportation staff in the absence of leadership.
• Inform leadership about emergencies and incidents.
