Cabarrus County School District Transportation in Concord, NC is seeking an Mechanic II to maintain and repair school buses and district vehicles, with duties including diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and road call responses.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and five years of experience, plus the ability to obtain a 30-day Inspection Certification and a Class B CDL with endorsements. Salary is $20.96–$33.54 per hour.

Competenze

High school diploma or GED and five years progressive job experience.
Working knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance.
Ability to perform major and minor repairs and service.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines.

Mansioni

Diagnose and repair mechanical problems/issues called in to dispatch by bus drivers or personnel of assigned fleet.
Perform maintenance items identified on work orders given by dispatch or Mechanic Supervisor.
Perform and complete monthly inspections and services in a timely manner as required by NC standards.
Make necessary mechanical repairs found on required 30-day inspections and services.
Respond to road calls and emergency situations assigned by mechanic supervisors or dispatchers.
Fuel buses as needed or assigned by mechanic supervisors or dispatchers.
Use computer diagnostic software to diagnose engine, transmission, ABS, and/or Aftertreatment problems.
Perform any additional tasks or instructions assigned by Mechanic Supervisor.
Cleans and maintains shop, tools and equipment as needed.
