Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Building Automation Systems Specialist to lead the strategy, engineering, and daily execution of the district-wide BAS, optimizing for efficiency, reliability, and cost. This role drives energy and GHG reductions and leads the FDD rollout.

You will supervise vendors, analyze data, and present energy-saving recommendations to leadership. Colorado residency is required, with on-site work in Denver.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field; Bachelor's preferred.
• 5+ years' experience servicing electronic control HVAC equipment and systems.
• 3+ years' experience with BAS programming languages.
• Experience with Tridium Jace, Johnson Controls ADX/FX, and Automated Logic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead BAS strategy, engineering, and daily execution district-wide.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot BAS and FDD platforms.
• Develop energy-efficient control sequences and review analytics to reduce emissions.
• Manage automated HVAC schedules and integration with facility systems.
• On-call after hours and weekend response for BAS alarms and HVAC failures.
• Inspect external vendors and ensure compliance with district standards.
• Provide regular reports and energy-saving recommendations to leadership.
