Job summary

Alhambra Elementary School District is seeking a District Academic Coach for Exceptional Student Services to work with schools and classroom teachers, modeling effective strategies and guiding instructional delivery to raise student achievement as measured by assessments and IEP goals.

The role requires an Arizona teaching certificate in special education, PK-8 experience, and strong communication, organization, and district technology skills; this is an in-person position in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Teacher Certificate in special education.
• Prior experience in special education PK-8 with a proven track record.
• Knowledge of scientifically research-based instruction and intervention programs.
• Effective communication, organization and presentation skills.
• Proficient use of district technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide support by understanding academic programs and intervention tools to guide site staff.
• Collaborate with sites to ensure strategies support students and teachers.
• Model direct, explicit instruction and observe to strengthen instructional practices.
• Monitor instruction and provide feedback to leadership teams.
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs and ensure equity.
