Job summary

Eversource Energy's Engineering Internship offers hands-on experience in distribution system modeling, power system studies, and engineering automation within the Advanced Modeling and Forecasting Team. You will assist with Synergi Electric models and data quality improvements.

The program runs summer 2027 (5/26/27-8/13/27) with mentorship, training, and exposure to multiple utility functions. Pay is hourly through a Managed Service Provider.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of power systems or energy infrastructure through coursework.
• Exposure to AI/ML desirable but not required.
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, SQL gained through coursework or internships.
• Coursework in Power Systems, Electric Machines, Distribution System Analysis, Control Systems, Data Analytics, Numerical Methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, maintenance, and validation of Synergi Electric models used for planning.
• Learn best practices for automated distribution system modeling and data management.
• Participate in team meetings and projects supporting modernizing the distribution system.
• Support planning activities, including identifying constraints and mitigation options.
