Job summary

Sport Dimension Inc. in Carson, CA is hiring for a distributor-focused sales role. You will identify, sign, and grow relationships with distributors across food, grocery, schools, camps, RV parks, and theme parks. You’ll manage the full sales cycle from outreach to reorders, with on-site travel as needed.

The position reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing and offers a base salary with commission. Expect to lead yearly forecasting, build robust pipelines, and participate in key trade shows.

Job description

Location: Carson, CA (on site), with regular travel

Type: Full time, exempt

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing

Pay range: $85,000 to $100,000 per year, plus commission (1% of qualifying sales up to $3M, 1.5% above, with a $15,000 minimum in year one)

About us

Sport Dimension Inc. is a sporting goods, water sports and toys company in Carson, California. Our brands include Wham-O, Body Glove, Jetpilot, Stohlquist, Morey Bodyboards, BZ, Churchill Swimfins, Nautica and Paddle Pals, sold through major US retailers, e-commerce and specialty dealers.

The role

Most of our business runs through retail. This role sells to the distributors who reach customers we don't sell today: food and grocery, schools and camps, RV parks and campgrounds, and theme and water parks. You will find them, sign them and sell them our lines, then keep them buying.

It is a one-person seat with real ownership. You will set the plan with the VP of Sales & Marketing, then do the work yourself, from the first call to the reorder.

Responsibilities

Selling to distributors

• Find, sign and sell to distributors in these channels, which we barely reach or don't reach today
• Qualify each one: what they carry, who they sell to, and whether they overlap with our direct retail accounts
• Negotiate programs and terms with the VP of Sales & Marketing
• Keep them buying: seasonal programs, order follow-up with customer service, reorders, and regular business reviews
• Bring what you hear in the market back to the product team

Running the business

• Keep a clean pipeline and report on it weekly
• Build a yearly forecast by channel and work with our planning team on what to buy
• Represent us at trade shows and on the road

Not in this role

• National retail key accounts (the sales managers and the President)
• Amazon and marketplaces (the marketplace team)
• Product development and certification (our product team)

Qualifications

• 5+ years in B2B sales, with at least 3 at a supplier selling to distributors
• Having personally signed new distributors, not only serviced existing ones, is a strong plus
• Experience with food, grocery, school, camp, RV, campground or park distributors is a strong plus
• Comfortable working alone: you plan your own time and follow through without being chased
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets, and a clear, short email
• Willing to travel regularly to distributors, customers and trade shows
