Job summary

Summa Health in Akron seeks a hands-on Supply Chain/Equipment Clerk to receive, stock, distribute and track medical equipment and supplies, ensuring areas are organized and maintained in accordance with safety and infection control standards.

You will support transportation, inventory control, and logistics coordination within and between hospital departments, and be able to handle the physical demands of moving heavy objects in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year of related experience in hospital supply chain, central services, or distribution preferred.
• Demonstrates teamwork, professionalism, and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and solve problems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all hospital staff with courtesy and professionalism.

Summary

Performs a variety of supply chain and equipment management functions across the hospital. Receives, stocks, distributes, tracks, and cleans medical equipment and supplies to support patient care operations. Ensure that supply areas are organized, adequately stocked, and maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards. Supports transportation, inventory control, and logistics coordination within and between hospital departments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:


• High School Graduate or GED


• Experience & Training Required:


• One (1) year of related experience in hospital supply chain, central services, or distribution preferred


• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

• Must be able to work various shifts as assigned


• Level of Physical Demands:


• Very Heavy: Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching


• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, body fluids, and infection risks with required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Salary

$16.72/hr - $22.98/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
