Job Responsibilities

• Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers.
• Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher-level supervisors.
• Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
• Assigns work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions.
• Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to ensure work order requirements are met.
• Sets performance standards for subordinates and makes formal appraisals of their work performance.
• Counsels employees and discusses informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives.
• Initiates disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintains work reports and records.

Qualification Summary

Applicants will be rated according to the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. While specific experience length is not required, applicants must meet the screen-out element (SOE) and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills through experience and training. Volunteer work and unpaid experiences are also credited. Physical effort involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting items up to 40 pounds, and working in various conditions, including hot, cold, or dusty environments. Work is typically performed inside a warehouse, with occasional outdoor tasks using materials handling equipment like forklifts. Safety gear such as safety glasses, respirators, and steel-toed shoes must be worn as required.

Compensation

$37-$44 per hour
