Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Operator 3 to join our shipping department in Reno. This role requires operating a forklift, reach truck, and other material handling equipment to move, stock, and count merchandise according to production standards.

Candidates should be able to cross-train across core distribution functions including unloading, put away, picking, replenishing, and loading while maintaining safe, accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
• Experience with RF scanners or similar handheld devices.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 55 lbs throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Stock and store merchandise in designated areas.
• Operate forklift, reach truck, or other material handling equipment safely.
• Prepare and load product for shipment with accurate units and types.
• Maintain inventory records and reports for accuracy.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and MSDS standards.
• Report any quality variances or safety concerns.
• Keep equipment and work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
• Assist in physical inventories and line or cell tasks as needed.
