About The Role
The Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day distribution center operations to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution across receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, team engagement, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and operational KPIs. The Distribution Operations Manager serves as a people-first leader who develops frontline leaders and hourly associates, supports workforce planning, and drives accountability through performance management and operational discipline. This role operates within a high-volume warehouse and distribution facility where teams work around moving equipment, dock operations, and fast-paced logistics workflows. Strict adherence to safety standards and operational procedures is required.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily distribution operations across inbound, outbound, inventory, and warehouse workflows
- Ensure operational goals related to productivity, quality, service, and safety are consistently achieved
- Monitor and drive KPIs including OTIF, labor utilization, inventory accuracy, throughput, shrink, and order accuracy
- Partner with Transportation, Production, and Site Leadership to ensure seamless execution across the supply chain
- Drive operational readiness and execution during peak periods, launches, and business changes
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, compliance standards, and company operational expectations
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors, Leads, and hourly team members
- Foster a culture centered around safety, accountability, engagement, and inclusion
- Conduct regular performance conversations, coaching sessions, and talent development planning
- Support staffing strategies including hiring, onboarding, training, and succession planning
- Ensure leaders are effectively managing attendance, performance, and employee relations matters in partnership with HR
- Reinforce company behaviors, recognition programs, and engagement initiatives across all shifts
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through daily engagement, audits, and accountability
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, GMP, HACCP, and company safety standards
- Partner with Safety and HR teams on incident investigations, corrective actions, and prevention strategies
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of workplace incidents and operational concerns
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows, labor efficiency, and service execution
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
- Analyze operational data and trends to drive informed decision-making
- Assist with implementation of new processes, systems, and operational changes
Communication & Collaboration
- Partner cross-functionally with Transportation, Production, HR, Safety, Inventory, and Quality teams
- Lead shift hand-offs and operational communication routines to ensure alignment across teams
- Provide clear operational updates, reporting, and escalation management to site leadership
- Support a positive employee experience through transparent and proactive communication
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive leadership experience managing teams in distribution, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Confident leading teams of 15+ employees and executing complex shifts in fast-paced environments
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control
- Working knowledge of OSHA, food safety, and operational compliance standards
- Proven ability to lead teams through change and operational growth
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and operational reporting tools
- Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive performance improvements referred
- Experience with workforce planning and labor management tools preferred
- Bilingual preferred
Requirements
- 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
- Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to move around the warehouse floor and interact with various teams daily
- Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and operational manuals in English; ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal instructions to ensure a safe and productive work environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in varying temperature zones including cold environments for extended periods

Role Details
- Salary Range: $74500 per year - $86000 per year
- Location: Swedesboro, NJ
