Responsibilities

• Pull material (by hand, forklift, or pallet jack) for orders following picking slip.
• Arrange material on pallets and deliver picked orders to packaging area.
• Wrap shipment using straps, stretch wrap, bubble wrap or boxes as directed.
• Maintain inventory by labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording locations.
• Locate materials by pulling and verifying against production orders.
• Prepare shipping labels and attach to finished packages before shipment.
• Load trucks and match bill of lading with material ready for shipping.
• Operate forklift or pallet jack and complete documentation including pallet itemization sheets.
• Keep warehouse and yard areas clean and organized; assist with trash removal and snow removal (East Locations).
• Complete daily forklift maintenance checklist as assigned; back-up Receiving Department duties as needed.

DISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLER SUMMARY:

To pull, package and load material for customer orders

DISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONABILITIES:

• Pick material (by hand, forklift, or pallet jack) for orders by following picking slip provided by Distribution Office Personnel
• Arrange material on pallets as necessary and deliver picked orders to the packaging area
• Strap, stretch wrap, bubble wrap or box shipment, as directed
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
• Prepare shipping labels and attach them to finished packages prior to shipment
• Load trucks by matching bill of lading with material ready for shipping
• Load material on trucks with forklift or pallet jack and complete all appropriate documentation, including pallet itemization sheets
• Maintain clean, organized working, warehouse, and yard areas, including trash removal, sweeping and snow removal (for East Locations).
• Complete daily maintenance checklist for forklift, as assigned
• Serve as back-up for the Receiving Department - unload trucks and count stock.
• Follow Company policies and procedures

DISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLER EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLER PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit
• Frequently lift and/or move a minimum of seventy-five pounds and a maximum of 75 pounds
