Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company in Middletown, OH is seeking a 3rd shift Distribution worker (Sunday-Thursday, 9pm-6am). The role supports metals processing and distribution, using forklifts and other equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will move inventory, pick orders, tag materials, and help load/unload trucks in a heavy-work environment. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of related experience, forklift credentials, a valid driver's license, and strong reading/writing and math

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years minimum forklift experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must possess a Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to meet current MVR quality criteria as defined by regulations and policy.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain certification to operate all required motorized equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, legible handwriting required.
• Adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and coordination.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions applied to work situations.
• Basic measurement skills for length, width, height and weight.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks and unload shipments.
• Load trucks and/or customer vehicles and help maintain warehouse upkeep.
• Receive, place and return items into stock locations.
• Pull and assemble orders based on shipping documents.
• Tag material for correct identification and document accordingly.
• Move material using forklift, side loader or crane as required.
• Operate yard truck for loading/unloading trailers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Restock material and report irregularities to supervisor.
• Occasionally drive non-DOT local deliveries and parts pickups.

Job Function

• Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and/or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.
• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations.
• Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.
• Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation.
• Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Restocks material.
• May occasionally drive motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
