Job summary

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy in the United States seeks a Distribution Manager to oversee day-to-day distribution and delivery operations for a high-volume long-term care pharmacy. You will coordinate routes, drivers, courier services, staffing, and distribution workflows to ensure medications and supplies are accurately prepared and delivered on schedule.

Lead in-house and third-party delivery coordination, monitor performance, analyze data for improvements, and supervise distribution staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, distribution or delivery operations.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to learn pharmacy, dispatching, routing and tracking software.
• Ability to communicate across departments and with staff at all levels.
• Ability to supervise and develop distribution personnel.
• Ability to organize large volumes of medications and packages.
• Fluent English (speaking and writing).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day distribution and delivery operations including routing and staffing.
• Develop and maintain efficient delivery routes based on geography and schedules.
• Coordinate in-house drivers, third-party couriers and package services for timely deliveries.
• Monitor service levels, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze delivery data to identify trends and improvements in staffing and workflows.
• Supervise and develop distribution personnel and hold them accountable.
• Communicate distribution priorities and issues with pharmacy leadership and other departments.
• Provide operational updates and recommendations to PIC and Director of Purchasing and Logistics.
• Identify and resolve delivery problems quickly (shortages, missed deliveries, route issues).
• Coordinate with pharmacy production to ensure prescriptions are ready for delivery.
• Prepare packages for delivery and manage distribution duties as needed.
• Implement continuous improvements to distribution processes and technology.
