Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee distribution and logistics in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead a warehouse team, optimize processes, and ensure safety and quality standards across the operation.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years in operations management, strong leadership, and proficiency with WMS/ERP systems to drive efficiency and cost reductions within a growing regional hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in operations management focusing on distribution and logistics.
• Proven experience in managing warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and transportation management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in WMS and ERP software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse and logistics staff.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures.
• Collaborate with transportation partners and internal departments to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
• Analyze operational performance data and prepare regular reports for management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
• Manage operational budgets and control expenses.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
