Job summary

Johns Manville in Hillsboro, TX is seeking a Physical Distribution Manager to oversee production planning scheduling, inventory control and transportation for a multi-line facility. You’ll lead a 29-person warehouse team and coordination with sales planning to ensure on-time delivery at optimal cost.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business or related field and at least 3 years’ supervisory warehouse experience. SAP/ERP familiarity and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline with at least 3 years’ warehouse management experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Customer service experience is desirable.
• Expert knowledge of warehouse inventory management.
• Basic knowledge of NAFTA documentation, MSDS, import/export rules, and related regulations.
• Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems; proficient with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production planning scheduling and inventory management; analyze inventory levels.
• Maintain optimal inventory to support on-time deliveries and minimize costs.
• Manage fleet operations, scheduling, driver safety, and utilization.
• Coordinate scheduling and adjust production plans as required.
• Oversee inventories to ensure obsolete materials are managed safely and economically.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering correct product on time and at right price.
• Provide leadership to a self-directed warehouse team.
• Manage warehouse procedures space utilization and inbound/outbound operations.
• Prepare weekly monthly and quarterly distribution reporting.
• Partner with Plant Leadership Team to achieve business goals.
• Create implement and monitor systems to improve department and individual performance.
• Work with inside Sales Marketing and divisional SIOP to develop forecasts.
• Supervise IT Coordinator to ensure reliable and secure systems.
• Manage total budgeted spending in production distribution and customer service areas.
• Ensure plant safety compliance and promote safe work practices.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
