Job summary

OGE Energy Corp. is hiring for a Distribution Lineman or Distribution Lineman Apprentice to support overhead and underground distribution systems. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining lines, performing substation duties, and ensuring safe operation.

Candidates may enter as Lineman or Apprentice based on qualifications and training. Role requires working with high voltages, climbing, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required for both tracks.
• For Lineman: 5 years progressive Lineman experience and completion of OGE Apprentice Program; or 1 year Journey Lineman experience.
• For Apprentice: Associate's Degree or relevant technical certificates; or military/utility line experience plus high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles, set poles and string wire using equipment and manpower safely.
• Perform substation and switching duties as needed.
• Operate test equipment efficiently and accurately.
• Construct and maintain overhead/underground distribution or transmission systems.
• Investigate and document events of damaged cables and facilities.
