Job summary

D Duke Energy is hiring for a Line Apprentice position to support distribution operations across multiple centers. The role involves learning the distribution system, performing line and service tasks, and being available for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety leadership, communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, field-based environment. CDL is required, with progression through training and assessments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Experience as a climber is required.
• Experience with secondary voltage as a lone worker is required.
• Must meet safety leadership expectations and promote safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and maintenance of the distribution system.
• Demonstrate understanding of overhead and underground insulation principles.
• Learn the Line and Service Training modules to understand the distribution system.
• Maintain safety practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Develop positive working relationships to coordinate activities.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication.
• Maintain records and files.
• Represent the company professionally and align with company goals.
