Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Line Apprentice 3 or 4 to support the distribution system across multiple operations centers, learning safety and field procedures while helping serve new and existing customers. Responsibilities include assisting with construction and maintenance, adhering to safety rules, developing teamwork, and maintaining records.

Must have a CDL, be an experienced climber, and be prepared for on-call and 24/7 work during outages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class A license required.
• Experience as a line apprentice or similar role.
• Ability to read and understand electrical distribution concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and maintenance of the distribution system.
• Demonstrate understanding of overhead and underground insulation and isolation.
• Learn line and service training modules and electrical system basics.
• Uphold safety practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Coordinate work activities with teams and maintain records.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Promote a positive representation of the company.
