Job summary

Vets Hired is seeking a Distribution Lead – Second Shift to manage daily warehouse operations and coordinate team activities. You will ensure accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory processes while maintaining safety standards.

The role partners with the Distribution Center Supervisor to improve efficiency, train staff, troubleshoot issues, and uphold company policies. Prior leadership in a warehouse, proficiency with RF scanning, ERP/WMS systems, and the ability to prioritize under pressure

Job Summary

The Distribution Lead – Second Shift supports daily warehouse and distribution center operations by coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, assisting team members, and ensuring shipping, inventory, and warehouse activities are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role works closely with the Distribution Center Supervisor to improve operational efficiency, maintain inventory accuracy, support employee training, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse workflow and employee assignments.
• Support shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory operations.
• Coordinate truck arrivals, dock assignments, and inventory counts.
• Monitor product movement and ensure proper material identification and organization.
• Assist with employee training, coaching, and problem-solving.
• Communicate shipping status, operational issues, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain inventory accuracy using warehouse systems and RF scanners.
• Report equipment issues and support warehouse maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Assist in improving warehouse productivity and operational efficiency.
• Support warehouse operations during supervisor absences.
• Perform additional warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or related operations.
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory handling, and product flow.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Experience using warehouse systems, RF scanners, ERP/WMS, or similar technology.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
