Job summary

Grimco is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to lead and develop the warehouse team, ensuring efficient operations and high accuracy. You will oversee hiring, onboarding, daily workflows, and adherence to safety standards while driving improvements through KPI monitoring.

The role requires 5–10 years in distribution management, a preferred college degree, and possible travel for training. A strong focus on process optimization and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years management experience in Distribution environment.
• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus; ability to travel for training.
• Ability to pass a criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise & Develop Team: Lead, train, and mentor warehouse associates, leads, and support staff; conduct evaluations and implement improvement plans.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee hiring and onboarding to build a skilled team.
• Daily Operations Management: Direct warehouse activities for efficient workflow, timely order fulfillment, and safety/quality adherence.
• Performance & Metrics Optimizations: Track KPIs (productivity, accuracy, quality) and use Power BI to improve efficiency.
• Inventory Control & Quality Assurance: Manage cycle counts, optimize locations, ensure accurate inventory movements, and maintain quality.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and certifications, ensure policy compliance and equipment maintenance.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee upkeep and repairs to keep assets operational.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with internal departments and report operational metrics to leadership.
• Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives: Identify opportunities and develop plans for continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Supervise & Develop Team: Lead, train, and mento warehouse associates, leads, and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations, manage compensation, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee hiring and onboarding processes to build a skilled and motivated team.
• Daily Operations Management: Direct warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflow, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Performance & Metrics Optimizations: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, and quality using Power BI dashboards. Implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Inventory Control & Quality Assurance: Manage cycle counts, optimize inventory locations, and ensure accurate documentation of inventory movements. Oversee quality control to maintain high accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain the required safety certifications and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Oversee proper maintenance of material handling equipment and safety supplies.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Supervise facility upkeep, equipment repairs, and ensure all warehouse assets remain operational.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with internal departments, respond to customer needs, and provide operational reports to senior management.
• Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement. Participate in company-wide initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 - 10 years management experience in Distribution environment.
• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus!
• Ability to travel to multiple states for training.
• Ability to compete and pass a criminal background screening.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carry tools and warehouse materials weighing 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.
• Requires prolonged standing or walking, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching daily.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders to pick or put away products.
• Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and machines (i.e., forklift)
