Job summary

Grimco, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Manager in the Sacramento area to lead warehouse operations and develop a high-performing team. You will supervise staff, drive efficiency using KPIs, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across daily activities.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and strategic initiatives to support our growing distribution network. Travel for training may be required; a college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years management experience in distribution
• Six Sigma certification is a plus
• Willingness to travel to multiple states for training
• Ability to compete and pass a criminal background screening

Responsibilities

• Supervise & Develop Team: Lead, train, and mentor warehouse associates, leads, and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee hiring and onboarding processes to build a skilled and motivated team.
• Daily Operations Management: Direct warehouse activities for efficient workflow, timely order fulfillment, and safety/quality adherence.
• Performance & Metrics Optimizations: Track KPIs (productivity, accuracy, quality) and use dashboards to drive efficiency.
• Inventory Control & Quality Assurance: Manage cycle counts, optimize locations, ensure accurate inventory movements and quality control.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain certifications, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee upkeep and repairs of warehouse assets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with internal departments and provide operational reports to leadership.
• Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives: Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement through projects.

Job Description

• Performance & Metrics Optimizations: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, and quality using Power BI dashboards. Implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Inventory Control & Quality Assurance: Manage cycle counts, optimize inventory locations, and ensure accurate documentation of inventory movements. Oversee quality control to maintain high accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain the required safety certifications and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Oversee proper maintenance of material handling equipment and safety supplies.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Supervise facility upkeep, equipment repairs, and ensure all warehouse assets remain operational.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with internal departments, respond to customer needs, and provide operational reports to senior management.
• Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement. Participate in company-wide initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 - 10 years management experience in Distribution environment.
• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus!
• Ability to travel to multiple states for training.
• Ability to compete and pass a criminal background screening.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carry tools and warehouse materials weighing 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.
• Requires prolonged standing or walking, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching daily.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders to pick or put away products.
• Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and machines (i.e., forklift)
