Job summary

Leidos in Orlando is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer for electric utility and fiber design engineering. This position may be with a temporary agency for up to 6 months, with a potential conversion to a Leidos employee.

You will develop construction work packages using GIS, CAD, and other client systems, perform engineering calculations (pole, cable, transformer sizing), and coordinate with Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil/Structural teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or MS in Engineering (EE/CE preferred). 0+ years in electric utility design.
• Must be comfortable in a field office setting.
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds and walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction work packages for electric distribution and fiber systems using GIS, CAD and client systems.
• Perform engineering calculations including pole, guying, cable pulling, transformer sizing, voltage drop and coordination of protective devices.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (Substation, Protection & Controls, Civil/Structural) and interface with local clients.
• Travel to project locations for field investigations; training provided by Leidos.
