American Electric Power Co. seeks a Dispatch Associate to support safe operation, dispatching, and restoration of the Corpus Christi distribution system. You will coordinate outages, energize facilities, and maintain outage records in a demanding, 30‑minute proximity role.

The position requires an associate degree in electrical/electronic tech or a BS/equivalent, with SOPD II and pre‑employment testing. Rotating shifts are required and proximity to the site is essential.

Formación

• Associate degree in electrical or electronic technology or higher; BS in any field acceptable.
• Completion of SOPD II and related assessments required for role progression.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing and system operator requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Dispatch service personnel to outages and emergencies on the distribution system.
• Authorize energizing and restoration of distribution facilities.
• Maintain accurate outage records and equipment logs.
• Track crew locations and ongoing work across facilities.
• Operate company communication equipment and coordinate dispatch activities.
• Live within 30 minutes of the work location and work rotating shifts.
