Job summary

Chugach Electric Association in Anchorage, AK seeks Designers I/II to develop and refine designs for electric utility distribution projects, leading to construction drawings and field verification. The role involves coordinating with a design manager and other departments to ensure design quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include completing designs for overhead/underground systems, transformer installations, and load centers while utilizing CAD and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Two years CAD/GIS/surveying or related experience in power line design/construction.
• HS diploma or GED with six college credits in algebra, trig, calculus and/or physics plus three credits in CAD/GIS or engineering is required; BS preferred.
• BS in Engineering or Engineering Science is required for Designer II; progression through Designer I may be offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs including construction drawings for residential services and streetlights.
• Field verify projects for design accuracy.
• Perform design calculations and prepare project estimates; use CAD/GIS tools.
