Job summary

EK Machine Co. in Wisconsin is seeking a Warehouse/Shipping Associate to coordinate the distribution of materials to internal and external customers.

You will manage WIP and inventoried parts, organize inventory locations in ERP, and prepare packing lists and shipping documents. The role requires basic math, instruction comprehension, and experience with warehousing tasks including loading/unloading, cycle counts, and forklift use.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, and write simple correspondence.

Job description

Coordinates the distribution of materials to internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Efficiently manages and distributes WIP and inventoried parts to internal and external customers.
• Organizes and manages inventory locations using ERP.
• Coordinates moves between EK facilities to ensure parts are at work centers on schedule.
• Ships and receives materials.
• Develops packing lists and BOLs for shipments.
• Organizes and packs ship loose items.
• Coordinates the receipt and organization of customer supplied materials.
• Organizes WIP parts by job numbers.
• Conducts inventory cycle counts and investigates inventory discrepancies.
• Loads and unloads material using forklift and/or cranes.
• Reviews and completes pick lists.
• Creates packaging solutions to meet customer needs.
• Routes shipments via appropriate carrier to meet customer needs.
• Assess and develop distribution SOP as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED, plus 1-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
