Job summary

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in the United States seeks a Distribution Clerk in Materials Management. You will pick, pack, and deliver supplies to departments, stock and organize storage areas, and monitor inventory to prevent shortages.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork to support patient care. This 40-hour weekly position, typically Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, includes potential weekend rotation and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive health

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and deliver supplies to departments and work areas according to schedules and requests.
• Stock and organize supplies in designated storage areas using appropriate inventory methods (FIFO/FIF0).
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder recommendations.
• Perform periodic inventory counts and assist with year-end counts.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized supply and storage areas per safety standards.
• Collaborate with team to coordinate daily workload and provide coverage as needed.
• Cross-train in other Materials Management functions for coverage.

Pay Range $16.00 - $22.40 Schedule Information Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: M-F, 7a-3:30p, weekend rotation every five weeks.

As a Distribution Clerk in Materials Management, you'll help ensure departments throughout the organization have the supplies they need to provide safe and effective patient care. From stocking and organizing inventory to preparing and delivering supplies, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping our healthcare system running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Pick, pack, and deliver supplies to departments and work areas according to established schedules and requests, ensuring items are delivered accurately and on time.
• Stock and organize supplies in designated storage areas using appropriate inventory rotation methods, including first in, first out and first expired, first out.
• Monitor inventory levels to help identify potential shortages or overstock situations and communicate reorder recommendations to the buyer group.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and assist with year-end physical inventory activities to support inventory accuracy.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized supply and storage areas in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other Materials Management team members to coordinate daily workload and maintain consistent service levels throughout the organization.
• Cross-train in other departmental functions, including receiving and linen distribution, to provide coverage and support as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to accurately pick, pack, stock, organize, and distribute supplies in a timely manner.
• Ability to monitor inventory levels, assist with physical inventory counts, and maintain organized storage areas.
• Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and commitment to providing consistent service to departments throughout the organization.
• Ability and willingness to cross-train in other Materials Management functions to provide departmental coverage as needed.

Preferred Qualities

• Previous experience in materials management, inventory, distribution, warehouse operations, or a healthcare environment.
• Experience with inventory stocking, supply distribution, or physical inventory processes.
• A service-focused approach with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with coworkers and departments throughout the organization.

You’ll help maintain appropriate inventory levels, identify potential supply concerns, and contribute to an organized and efficient Materials Management operation.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking, standing, and bending throughout the workday.
