Job summary

UNFI, a large national distributor, is seeking a janitorial associate to clean and maintain a distribution center on site in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and assisting with safety procedures to support overall operations.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and warehouse experience is preferred. The position requires adherence to HACCP/SQF policies and occasional travel to company offices or other locations may occur.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent related experience.
• Warehouse/operations/manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that location has all of the needed janitorial equipment.
• Operates floor scrubber.
• Sweeps and vacuums dock plates.
• Sweeps and mop sanitation barriers.
• Empties trash bins from all locations in the cooler, grocery and loading dock, offices and break areas.
• Empties cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts.
• Keeps all areas free of debris such as wood fragments, pallet wrap, labels, and paper.
• Removes empty pallets and clean and mop slots.
• Discards leaking pdoruct and records on reconciliation log.
• Reports any violation of company policy to supervisor or lead.
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
