The Cato Corporation is seeking a Distribution Center Operations Supervisor to join our DC Team!

The Cato Corporation, a leading specialty retailer of value-priced women’s fashion apparel with corporate offices located in Charlotte, North Carolina, operates three concepts: Cato, It’s Fashion and Versona. The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring efficient workflow, fostering collaboration across departments, and leading a team to enhance business operations. This role requires strong people management skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to improving processes. Experience in a distribution, logistics, or warehouse setting is preferred, and bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide direct leadership to a team of distribution center associates.
• Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and provide ongoing support and guidance.
• Conduct performance evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and support employee development.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that drives engagement and productivity.

Operational Oversight:

• Ensure smooth daily operations by monitoring workflows and identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with multiple departments, including inventory, logistics, and customer service, to optimize distribution processes.
• Support cross-training initiatives to enhance team versatility and overall operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational standards.
• Monitor inventory movement and ensure proper handling of goods to reduce errors and inefficiencies.
• Utilize data and reporting tools to track performance metrics and recommend process enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.
• Strong people management skills, including coaching, training, and performance management.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and drive operational improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication skills to engage with teams at all levels.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
