Job summary

Smithers-Oasis in Kent, OH is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to lead the safe, accurate, and cost-effective DC operation. You will oversee staffing, inventory integrity, order fulfillment, inbound/outbound execution, and carrier performance.

Responsibilities include developing frontline leadership, using data to solve problems, and aligning daily execution with customer and business priorities. The role offers a competitive salary and 401(k) with bonus potential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years of progressive distribution, warehouse, logistics, or operations leadership experience.
Experience using ERP/WMS, barcode scanning, parcel shipping systems, and data reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead DC supervisors, leads, and hourly employees with clear accountability and escalation paths.
Create a safe, respectful and engaged work environment with visible leadership and consistent policy application.
Plan staffing and overtime based on workload and service commitments; ensure effective shift handoffs.
Manage receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and parcel fulfillment across channels.
Establish standard work, visual controls, and escalation processes for predictable execution.
Coordinate with cross-functional partners to prioritize workload and resolve constraints.
Maintain inventory accuracy through receiving, counting, and reconciliation; investigate variances.
Monitor equipment, safety, housekeeping, and compliance with safety/environmental standards.
