Job summary

Tireco Distributors in Westwego, LA is hiring a Distribution Center Manager to lead daily DC operations, driving on-time shipments and safety compliance. You will manage drivers, supervisors and staff, ensuring accurate paperwork and inventory while enforcing company policies.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of operations leadership with a strong focus on efficiency, teamwork, and customer service in a fast-paced distribution setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent work experience in business/ops
• Experience leading operations or distribution center teams
• Familiarity with fleet management and DOT compliance
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of safety and OSHA standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facility operations including scheduling and management of drivers, supervisors, leads and distribution center associates
• Manage day-to-day DC operations ensuring timeliness and accuracy of shipments and paperwork
• Enforce safety, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
• Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, fleet, material handling, and shipping requirements
• Safeguard DC operations and contents by establishing security procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe distribution center environment
• Recruit, select, and train distribution center staff
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance
• Verify inventory accuracy via cycle counts and dock audits
• Ensure all will-call orders are handled efficiently and courteously
• Maintain DOT compliance for the fleet
• Develop and manage cost-control programs and budgets
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce costs and lead times
