Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Custodian / Groundskeeper to support the DC in Greensboro, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. You will perform interior cleaning, exterior grounds upkeep, and basic maintenance to help operations run smoothly.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions. Training is provided for equipment and safety procedures; experience in custodial or facilities work is preferred, with opportunities for career growth

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Willingness/ability to operate basic cleaning equipment or learn.
• Understanding of basic safety practices in warehouse/facility environments.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the DC.
• Empty trash and sweep floors to maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and balers.
• Maintain janitorial stations and stock cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Restock paper products and cleaning supplies in restrooms/break areas.
• Communicate custodial or maintenance issues to supervisors/DC leadership.
• Assist with general maintenance and facility upkeep tasks.
• Support groundskeeping duties including lawn care, trash removal, basic landscaping.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and exterior maintenance.
• Maintain organization of work areas and totes/maintenance zones.
• Follow safety practices and identify unsafe conditions.
• Operate equipment per established procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Custodian / Groundskeeper performs housekeeping, janitorial, and basic maintenance tasks across the distribution center (DC) to maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. This role supports both interior cleaning and exterior grounds upkeep while assisting with general maintenance activities to ensure operations run efficiently.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the DC.
• Empty trash and cardboard containers and sweep floor areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and cardboard balers.
• Maintain janitorial stations and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
• Restock paper products and hand cleaning supplies in restrooms and break areas.
• Communicate custodial or maintenance issues to supervisors or DC leadership.
• Assist with general maintenance and facility upkeep tasks as needed.
• Support groundskeeping duties including lawn care, trash removal, and basic landscaping.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and exterior maintenance

Skills/Education/Experience

• 1+ year of experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks consistently.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment or willingness to learn.
• Understanding of basic safety practices in a warehouse or facility environment.

Desired

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic knowledge of groundskeeping or facility maintenance practices.
• Experience operating groundskeeping equipment such as mowers or trimmers.
• Proficiency in one or more additional languages.
