Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Custodian / Groundskeeper for its Minnesota distribution center. The role focuses on housekeeping, janitorial tasks, and basic maintenance to maintain a clean, safe environment and support interior cleaning as well as exterior grounds upkeep.

You will operate cleaning equipment, restock supplies, and assist with seasonal exterior maintenance. A minimum of 1 year in custodial work and strong teamwork and safety awareness are required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks consistently.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the DC.
• Empty trash and cardboard containers and sweep floor areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and cardboard balers.
• Maintain janitorial stations and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
• Restock paper products and hand cleaning supplies in restrooms and break areas.

Compensation Pay Range

$21.70 - $24.95

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

The Custodian / Groundskeeper performs housekeeping, janitorial, and basic maintenance tasks across the distribution center (DC) to maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. This role supports both interior cleaning and exterior grounds upkeep while assisting with general maintenance activities to ensure operations run efficiently.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the DC.
• Empty trash and cardboard containers and sweep floor areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and cardboard balers.
• Maintain janitorial stations and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
• Restock paper products and hand cleaning supplies in restrooms and break areas.
• Communicate custodial or maintenance issues to supervisors or DC leadership.
• Assist with general maintenance and facility upkeep tasks as needed.
• Support groundskeeping duties including lawn care, trash removal, and basic landscaping.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and exterior maintenance
• Support organization and maintenance of work areas such as tote repair or maintenance zones.
• Follow safety practices and identify unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Operate equipment and perform duties in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Experience

Required:

• 1+ year of experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment or willingness to learn.
• Understanding of basic safety practices in a warehouse or facility environment.

Desired

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic knowledge of groundskeeping or facility maintenance practices.
• Experience operating groundskeeping equipment such as mowers or trimmers.
• Proficiency in one or more additional languages.
