Job Overview An Area Manager is a motivated, customer-focused position responsible for leading a team of hourly-workforce and maintaining Bob’s core values. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in safety, quality, and performance to exemplify those core values and foster a positive culture of growth and development for all employees. You will collaborate closely with other team members to encourage a diversified workforce, maintain constant open communication throughout the operation, and protect customer expectations through sustained operations.

Skilled at assigning responsibilities and empowering team members. Ability to determine severity of tasks and align on ownership and ability to delegate.
History of driving projects to completion with measurable outcomes. Ability to create plans, communicate requirements, and navigate priorities. Delivers daily, weekly, and monthly operational targets (UPH, SLA, Cost, Quality).
Consistently makes well-informed decisions. Ability to negotiate trade-offs: Time Vs. Quality Vs. Resources. Balances short-term operational needs with long-term business impact.
Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions. Uses data trends and reporting to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that facilitate clear, impactful interactions. Ability to define and clarify what success looks like.
Demonstrates high situational awareness and adapts leadership styles to environment. Proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts constructively. Ability to partner effectively with Human Resources for employee coaching and mitigation.
Ability to motivate and engage team members. Boost morale by working hand in hand with frontline associates. Builds a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Office. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
Ability to meet and exceed key performance metrics, including financial targets and customer satisfaction scores. Manages labor costs, productivity rates, and budget adherence. Tracks and improves KPI’s such as UPH, cost per unit, on-time shipping, and fill rate. Understands P&L impact of the operation and drives cost efficiencies.
Demonstrated commitment to enhancing the customer experience. Meet customer commitments by focusing on quality and accuracy- minimizing damage of products. Responds quickly to service failures and implements corrective actions.
Proven ability to streamline workflows and implement effective process improvements. Ability to drive process improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
Capability to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with business objectives. Supports labor planning, capacity planning, and peak readiness strategies.
