Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks a distribution/ADMS engineer to monitor ADMS performance, support OMS/ADMS upgrades, and assist DCC operations. You will develop fault-location functionality and maintain substation drawings, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education, 3+ years of experience, and strong communication and analytical skills. Occasional travel and storm restoration support are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• PE license or engineering degree with advanced degree accepted as alternatives.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
• Strong safety commitment and knowledge of relevant FE safety tools.
• Knowledge of FE Distribution and/or Substation design.
• Strong presentation and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering direction to DCC and smart grid operators.
• Monitor ADMS performance; support OMS/ADMS upgrades via UAT.
• Maintain a safe workplace and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop ADMS fault location functionality and support grid projects.
• Create, modify, and maintain substation one-line drawings.
• Assist switching requests and evaluate loads for feasibility.
