Job summary

Jacam Catalyst, LLC in Sterling, KS is seeking a full-time forklift operator to move, load, and unload merchandise, inspect inbound/outbound products, and ensure safe handling of hazardous waste containers.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years forklift experience, a valid driver’s license, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Overtime up to 15 hours weekly may be scheduled.

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load and unload merchandise. Repairs and maintains facilities as instructed. Handling, moving, and storage of hazardous waste containers, response to spills, inspection of containers, and assisting with proper waste disposal. The distribution center is a logistics based department, and as such we are required to potentially work 15 hours of overtime per week, depending on the workload.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely operate forklifts or any other power equipment to complete various tasks and projects assigned.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound products are accurate and free of damage.
  • Efficiently move products from storage to other locations in the warehouse, as well as loading and unloadingtrucks.
  • Follow safety and health procedures including goggles, gloves, and other apparatus required for the safecompletion of the job.
  • Maintain plant facilities, tools and other items used in the performance of the employee’s duties.
  • Follow the appropriate Hazmat clean-up and disposal procedures and immediately report all spills to supervisor.
  • All duties must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe working conditions must be reported tosupervisor and corrective actions must be taken before proceeding with job.
  • Fabricate, repair and maintain any equipment used in manufacturing processes if requested to do so bysuperiors.
  • Ensure all warehouse loads for the day are complete regardless of the hours of operation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or two to four years related

  • Physical Abilities: Lift and carry up to 100 pounds in various packaging. Tip and move 55 gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.

Chemical manufacturing environment inside and outside of metal buildings. Employee could be facedwith working in temperature extremes. Must be able to work in a chemical odors environment. Able to liftand carry 100 pounds. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery. Machinery and tool operationrequires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectorswork boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Helpful to be able to drivea forklift safely.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, goggles, etc.
