Distribution and Production Specialist (2nd Shift: 7pm-7am)

About the Role

Job title: Distribution & Production Specialist

Department: Mayzo Operations Center

Reports to: Production Manager

Type: Full Time, Mon-Thurs, 7:00pm to 7:00am

Location: Mayzo Operations Center in Walterboro, SC

Overview:

In this hands‑on role, you will support both warehouse distribution and light production operations by receiving materials, preparing customer shipments, and assisting with production activities. Your work will play a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, product quality, and exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production

  • Perform light chemical production activities, including repackaging, relabeling, blending, and mixing under the direction of the Production Manager.
  • Operate production equipment and heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory records as required.

Receiving

  • Unload inbound shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Verify incoming materials against shipping documentation and report any discrepancies.
  • nspect incoming shipments for damage and notify management of any issues.

Shipping

  • Pick inventory and prepare customer orders in accordance with customer specifications and ISO procedures.
  • Package and stage outbound shipments.
  • Load outbound shipments using appropriate material‑handling equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Report all safety incidents, hazards, and near misses immediately.
  • Maintain a strong safety‑first mindset while working around chemicals and heavy equipment.
  • Support compliance with ISO standards and company quality procedures.

Inventory & General Operations

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory through proper material handling and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support warehouse and production operations as business needs require.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to five years of warehouse, manufacturing, production, or distribution experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred (or the ability to obtain certification).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills are a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and reaching.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and varying warehouse and production environments.
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions during shipping and receiving activities.
  • Regular exposure to loud manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Equipment used includes forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, blending equipment, and other material‑handling machinery.
