Staff Distributed Systems Engineer — AI Infrastructure (Open Source) / up to $500k

We’re hiring a Staff Distributed Systems Engineer to help design and scale the core platform behind these tools.
Role Overview
You’ll take ownership of major distributed systems components, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability. This is a senior technical role with architectural responsibility.
You’ll work on:
- Distributed execution runtimes for epoxy AI workloads
- Low-latency control planes and coordination services
- Scheduling, isolation, and resource management
- Systems optimisation across compute, network, and storage
- Contributing to and maintaining key open-source projects
Requirements
- 8+ years in distributed systems or low-level infrastructure
- Startup experience building a product or outside of your work, side projects that are related to your passion for technology.
- Strong experience with Go, Rust, or C++
- Solid understanding of concurrency, networking, and distributed algorithms
- Experience with large-scale systems and production reliability
- Comfortable working in open-source environments
Nice to have: micro-VMs, container isolation, serverless/ephemeral compute, WASM, ML infra.
