TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Big Data Engineer to build and operate large-scale data processing frameworks and storage systems, ensuring stability under high traffic while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The role emphasizes ownership, strong CS fundamentals, and the ability to drive technical innovation in a fast-growing global e-commerce platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with big data processing and storage frameworks (Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, RocksDB).
• Strong CS fundamentals (coding, algorithms, data structures, software design) and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions clearly.
• Effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Experience in risk control or governance domain (preferred).
• Experience with building large-scale ML infrastructure or petabyte-scale data processing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build and operate big data computing frameworks and storage systems for large-scale platform services.
• Design and optimize high-concurrency distributed systems for peak global traffic.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive large-scale engineering initiatives.
• Drive technical innovation by integrating new ideas and technologies into the core platform.
• Enhance system efficiency and scalability to support rapid growth of the global e-commerce ecosystem.
