Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking a Tech Lead Manager for the Data BP team in the US. You will lead a team of data engineers maintaining and scaling one of the world's largest data platforms supporting TikTok's US data ecosystem.

You will partner with Product, Analytics and Data Science to translate business needs into scalable data solutions, define data quality frameworks, and drive end-to-end delivery while upholding data governance and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with big data processing and distributed storage engines (Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Druid, ClickHouse).
• Deep understanding of data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses and lakehouse patterns.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency for data processing and analytics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence and ownership.
• Oversee project management and cross-functional collaboration for high-quality delivery.
• Design and build scalable big data platforms and pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Define architecture standards including data modeling and data quality frameworks.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design through deployment and optimization.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Define metrics and use data to guide prioritization and decisions.
• Optimize data processing systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Establish execution practices and governance across initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
