Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is hiring a Software Development Engineer for the In-Memory datastore team within ElastiCache. You will own the full lifecycle of a high-performance distributed in-memory database platform used by real-time applications.

You'll design and build scalable storage components in Java and C++, mentor juniors, and drive reliability, observability, and disaster recovery while collaborating with product and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building the next-generation in-memory NoSQL database platform, enabling highly available, scalable applications.
• Leading software development of large-scale distributed in-memory storage systems in Java and C/C++, using Redis and Memcached.
• Developing and operating HTTP/REST services and event-driven architectures that form the backbone of the platform.
• Building and improving real-time failure detection and auto-remediation systems for large clusters.
• Mentoring junior engineers and driving reliability, observability, and on-call effectiveness.
