Job description

This position is responsible for monitoring and stewarding DeltaV diagnostics, maintenance tickets and other follows ups for a major LNG facility and pipeline. AMS Optics experience is a strong plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

The DCS Technician: III is a experienced professional industrial role within the Pipeline Asset function, supporting temp workforce needs for an LNG client. The role may support the Houston corporate office, the Beaumont office, and the LNG facility in Port Arthur, Texas, with site presence or travel based on business and operational needs. The individual works independently and owns moderately complex assignments, coordinates cross-functional activities, analyzes risks, and may coach less-experienced team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance and reliability across LNG facilities. Monitor and configure control system hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with plant operations. Perform regular system diagnostics, backups, and updates to prevent downtime and enhance system security. Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to address system alarms and optimize control processes. Support the installation and commissioning of new control systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and updates for compliance and operational efficiency. Provide technical support and training to operators and staff, fostering a clear understanding of DCS functionality.

LNG OPERATING EXPECTATIONS

Work must be performed with a strong commitment to process safety, personal safety, environmental stewardship, operational reliability, permit-to-work requirements, management of change, and accurate documentation in a regulated LNG environment. The individual will collaborate with applicable teams such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and SSHE&R, as relevant to the assignment. Responsibilities include timely communication of risks and issues, adherence to client procedures and applicable requirements, protection of confidential information, and support for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience for Level III. Education, licenses, certifications, and technical qualifications should be appropriate for the DCS Technician discipline and assignment. LNG, natural gas, petrochemical, pipeline, terminal, heavy industrial, or other regulated operating-environment experience is preferred when relevant. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, clear written and verbal communication, collaboration across office and site teams, attention to detail, and proficiency with the tools and systems required for the role.
