Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to shape the future of our Core Infrastructure platform, with emphasis on Compute, Deployment, and Infrastructure as Code. This hybrid role can be based in Mountain View, CA or Bellevue, WA, performing work from home and office on select days.

You will partner with senior engineering leaders to define long-term strategy, lead cross-team initiatives, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience and leadership of technical projects.
• PhD or equivalent research experience preferred for deeper exploration.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term technical strategy across compute, deployment, and IaC.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and drive architecture alignment.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical depth across the org.
• Balance scalability, reliability, and cost in multi-domain infra.
