Job summary

Verizon is building one of the most advanced autonomous networks in the industry. We are seeking a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff to design Gen AI-powered systems and deploy AI workloads across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, from data center to edge.

This hybrid role includes work-from-home with a minimum of three days per week in the office, and a compensation package that reflects location and skills. The annual salary range for the NJ location is $137,000 to $263,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience in a technical field.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong familiarity with Generative AI concepts including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, and agentic architectures.
• Proven experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with on-premise AI inference at the edge and low-latency environments.
• Strong security background and ability to design guardrails for AI products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy applied AI/Gen AI solutions on Verizon's Gen AI platform.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-value use cases and translate them into scalable AI-driven solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and agentic frameworks into production systems.
• Architect and deploy AI workloads across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Mentor engineers and act as a technical thought leader on Gen AI adoption.
