Job summary

Marathon Health seeks an optician to assist customers with fitting glasses and contact lenses after obtaining prescriptions from optometrists. You will dispense and order eyewear, measure lenses, and educate patients on options to suit medical needs and lifestyle.

The role requires ABO/NCLE certification, 2+ years of dispensing experience, and ability to operate a lensometer. Interpersonal communication and attention to detail are essential in a fast-paced health-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience dispensing corrective lenses or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified as Dispensing Optician required.
• ABO and NCLE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and order glasses, fit and measure lenses.
• Educate patients on eyewear options for medical and lifestyle needs.
• Take eye measurements including pupillary distance and segment heights.
• Adjust frames for proper fit and repair broken frames.
• Educate client employees on eyewear care and lens options.
• Maintain orders, prescriptions and inventory; manage vendor relationships.
