Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group is seeking an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to coordinate freight movements across trucks, trains, and ships. You will work with drivers, carriers, and logistics staff to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve issues to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has dispatcher or intermodal logistics experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with TMS software. This on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, routing, and logistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, carriers, and customers.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management software (TMS) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and route changes.
  • Identify and resolve delays, route changes, or equipment problems in a timely manner and implement contingency plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment details and prepare shipping documents in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Job Summary

As an intermodal dispatcher, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of freight containers and shipments across various transportation modes to ensure timely delivery and optimal efficiency. You will work closely with drivers, carriers, and logistics personnel to schedule pickups and deliveries, track shipments, and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.

Dispatch Operations
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation of freight containers and shipments via trucks, trains, and ships.
  • Assign drivers and carriers to specific routes and loads, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to delivery
  • Monitor the progress of shipments and provide updates to customers and stakeholders as necessary.
Communication And Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, route changes, and delivery
  • Communicate with customers to confirm pickup and delivery times, address any concerns, and provide exceptional customer s
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to ensure seamless logistics
Problem Resolution
  • Identify and resolve transportation issues such as delays, route changes, or equipment problems in a timely ma
  • Implement contingency plans to mitigate disruptions and ensure on-time delivery
