Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate and assign vehicles and drivers for the delivery of building materials. You will organize routes, track shipments, and communicate with drivers and customers to ensure timely deliveries.

The role requires basic education and experience, meticulous record-keeping, and the ability to use two-way radio for coordination. On-site work environment with a focus on reliable logistics support.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures or regulations.
• Ability to write basic business correspondence and respond to questions.
• Proficiency with basic math and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Compiles list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles according to trip length, freight, or user needs.
• Assigns orders to lift operators from inventory.
• Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
• Records departure times, destinations, cargo, and return estimates.
• Investigates overdue vehicles and routes parties as needed.
• Directs drivers via two-way radio and coordinates with customers.
• Maintains mileage, fuel, repair, and expense records.
• Establishes service or delivery routes and assigns helpers.
