Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America's largest supplier of building materials, is seeking a dispatch coordinator to assign motor vehicles and drivers for the conveyance of building materials. You will compile vehicle lists, assign trips, and coordinate with drivers to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 6–12 months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general procedures or regulations; basic writing and communication.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements accurately.

Responsibilities

• Compiles list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles according to trip length, purpose, freight, and user preference.
• Assigns orders to lift operators to be pulled from inventory.
• Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
• Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected return.
• Investigates overdue vehicles.
• Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.
• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
• Maintains record of mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and other expenses.
• Establishes service or delivery routes.
• Assigns helpers to drivers.
• Other duties as assigned
