Purpose of Position

The Dispatcher position is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient service to GWI customers and drivers. It requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership, mentoring abilities, multi-tasking, and superior communication skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure Independent Contractor satisfaction by facilitating load distribution.
  2. Achieve driver retention and growth goals by supporting driver success and maintaining strong relationships with independent contractors and employee drivers.
  3. Collaborate with critical departments (e.g., Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service, Sales) to best serve drivers and internal/external customers.
  4. Promote a culture of Operational Excellence focused on safety and quality.
  5. Execute daily workload while meeting customer requirements to provide World Class service.
  6. Track and manage Gulf Winds equipment to ensure proper utilization.
  7. Cross-train to cover workload when the Terminal Manager is unavailable.
  8. Communicate challenges and opportunities openly, along with creative solutions.
  9. Manage costs to increase terminal profitability and minimize costs for customers.
  10. Maintain the facility's proper upkeep, cleanliness, and supplies.
  11. Manage quarterly KPIs to support company goals.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Organizational skills.
  2. Professional communication and writing skills.
  3. Self-starter willing to work with minimal supervision.
  4. Problem resolution skills.
  5. Computer skills (Internet and Prism Software preferred).
  6. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  7. Logistics and Intermodal experience preferred.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Must be a DFW Metroplex resident.
  2. High School Diploma or GED.
  3. Dependable and able to work independently.
  4. Previous transportation experience preferred.
