Porterville Developmental Center in Tulare County is seeking a Dispatcher Clerk to work in the 24-hour/365-day Communication Office, using a PBX, multi-line phones, TTY and other communications equipment. The role requires adherence to state policies; potential relocation housing; exams; and the position is permanent, full time with a salary range of $3,989 to $4,991.

Working under direction in a 24-hour/365-day Communication Office following established policies and procedures in order to perform a variety of duties with the use of the following equipment: PBX console, multi-line telephones system, TTY device, computer, 2-way radio, AlphaMate paging system, TV video surveillance recorder and monitor, PA, fax machine, copier, cellphones and alarms systems.
Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.
Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions. Housing assignments and rates will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.
Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. This recruitment may be utilized to fill future vacancies that may occur during the life of the certification list.
Pursuant to California Government Code requirements, candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment.
