Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Dispatcher for an on-site position in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

The role supports overnight delivery operations, driver checks, and customer service resolution. You will coordinate dispatch activities, enforce safety and DOT compliance, and adapt to changing schedules while handling routine duties and occasional special projects.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and assist drivers throughout overnight delivery operations, resolve delivery issues, and address customer service concerns.
• Complete driver check-in procedures, audit route equipment and documentation, and inspect trailer and cab cleanliness.
• Review driver packets and verify return of phones, chargers, and keys before end of shifts.
• Maintain night transportation operations and support transition to day-shift operations.
• Conduct daily driver safety messages.
• Investigate customer complaints using CRM and communicate findings to management.
• Monitor route times and driver timekeeping; review driver logs for DOT compliance.
• Review I-Bright system for driver location and cold-chain compliance.
• Verify completion of Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and overnight reports.
• Follow Federal DOT and FMCSA regulations and company policies.
• Maintain clean work environment, picking up trash and cleaning spills.
• Complete other assigned duties and small projects.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

Work Arrangement: On-Site
Travel Required: Up to 20%

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigate customer complaints using the Customer Reporting Management System (CRM) and communicate findings to management.
• Monitor route times and driver timekeeping; review driver logs for DOT compliance.
• Review the I-Bright system for driver location and cold-chain compliance.
• Verify completion of Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and overnight reports.
• Follow Federal DOT and FMCSA regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including picking up trash and cleaning spills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Exposure to dry, cold, and freezer product environments.
• Moderate noise levels in dock and warehouse areas.
• Exposure to weather conditions including rain, snow, and cold.
• Occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force and frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, grasping, and computer use.
• Compliance with cold-chain protocols, grooming and hygiene standards, and required personal protective equipment.

RECRUITIFI MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working in a union environment.
• Class A or Class B CDL.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle and/or AS400.
• Adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in Oracle or AS400 is required after 90 days.
• Overtime, holiday, and weekend work is required.
